Having easy exit and entry
points, Mathura-Vrindavan not only share a 80 kilometer stretch on the current
national highway but are likely to have another portion of 80 kilometers in the
upcoming Yamuna Expressway too, thus, making these places attractive locations
for potential builders, developers, residents, visitors and tourists alike.
Known as the land of Lord Krishna, this region has immense value in terms of
faith, religion and spirituality. But there still is a lot of scope for
improvement in the cities of Mathura, Vrindavan and Goverdhan in terms of
developing world class infrastructure, star hotels and luxury branding among
others. Despite the fact that the region has a great inflow of tourists round
the year, it falls short of seven star hotels or recreational spots that infuse
enthusiasm in the visitors to stay back for a longer duration.
To give an image makeover to the
Mathura-Vrindavan region, the Mathura Vrindavan Development Authority (MVDA),
as well as the private developers, has started taking keen interest in its
infrastructural facelift. Elaborating on their ongoing and upcoming projects like
Shree Krishna Vaas
Vrindavan for the transformation of these holy cities, vice-chairman,
MVDA, VK Pamar, shares, “Keeping in mind the religious and historic relevance
of Mathura-Vrindavan, we have initiated several plans for the same and that
includes 27 kilometer long inter-locking roads along with drainage work in 19
wards of Nagar Palika of Vrindavan. Apart from this, we have also given a sum
of ‘12.97 crore to the Jal Nigam for proper sewerage development in the city.
Also, in order to manage the street lights on the central verge or the divider
of Chatikara Vrindavan Road, which starts from the highway to Vrindavan, we
have signed a contract on the PPP model.”
Being one of the frequently
visited religious places in the country, Mathura-Vrindavan region indeed has
tremendous scope for modernized civic development. The fact that crores have
been granted by the government for this region’s up gradation, private colonizers
seem to be taking keen interest in taking up both residential and commercial
ventures. Commenting on the same, Sudeep Agarwal, MD, Shree Group, Mathura,
says, “Mathura region is a major pilgrimage destination and it has more number
of Indian visitors than foreign tourists. We are trying to introduce modern
infrastructure in terms of good housing societies, better residential colonies,
malls and multiplexes to make it an attractive realty destination.”
Another interesting thing to take
note of is that private builders are also focusing on eco-development. From
prime focus on greenery with every house at least having one tree, water
harvesting, prohibiting vehicles inside the residential areas and instead
making use of battery operated carts, sprinkler system for plantation to energy
conservation by means of 16 watt street lighting, builders and developers are
doing it all.
Looks like with all these
initiatives, the area will drive the growth of the region in a big way.
