Cordea Savills - Kiran Patel has been appointed to the newly created role of chief investment officer, with a global remit. Patel, who will be a member of the executive committee, was previously global head of business development, distribution, research and strategy at AXA Real Estate. After 11 years at the firm, he took a break of several months before taking up his role at Cordea Savills this month.

AXA Real Estate Investment Managers - The real estate fund and asset manager has appointed Dietrich Heidtmann as global head of investor relations and capital markets. Heidtmann, who joined last week, will be responsible for investor relations across Europe, Asia and North America, reporting directly to Deborah Shire, global head of business development. He will also be a member of the AXA Real Estate executive committee.

Universities Superannuation Scheme - Steve Deeley and Rob Horsnall have been appointed as investment managers for infrastructure. Deeley joins from UBS Global Asset Management, where he was director of infrastructure asset management. Before then, he worked on the corporate finance team at Deloitte. Horsnall is an internal appointment, having been promoted from senior analyst in the private markets team.

BNP Paribas Real Estate UK - Mike Chadburn joins as senior director of international investment from Chadburn Macleod, while Andrew Shepherd joins as senior director. Simon Hill has been appointed associate director in the retail agency. Shepherd and Hill both join from Capital Retail.

Aberdeen Asset Management - Ibtissem Sfaxi has joined as a senior member of the business development property team, covering France and the Middle East. This newly created role aims to deepen coverage of property clients in Europe and the Middle East and work closely with the generalist business development and wider distribution teams.

Cheyne Capital Management (UK) - The company has appointed Arron Taggart to its real estate debt team as a loan originator. Prior to joining Cheyne, he was lead regional property specialist for London & South at Clydesdale Bank, which he joined in 2006.

Heitman - Scott Dwyer has joined as head of portfolio management for European private equity operations. Dwyer will be based in the Warsaw office and report to European co-heads Gordon Black and Rob Reiskin.

Cornerstone Real Estate Advisers - The real estate investment advisory firm has named Terri Herubin as portfolio manager of the Cornerstone Patriot fund, an open-ended, US, core real estate fund. Herubin replaces Brian Murdy, who is leaving Cornerstone after 13 years. Meanwhile, the firm has also opened a new office in Tokyo, which will be headed by directors Kelly Hayes and Peter Gensheimer.

Savills - The adviser company has appointed Julien Naouri as a senior manager in its Asia Pacific hotels team. Based in the firm's Singapore office, Naouri will focus on providing clients with specialist consulting, valuation and investment-related services associated with hospitality-related assets and developments.

First State Investments - Marc Boudier and Lutz Feldmann will join the infrastructure senior advisers group to provide independent governance, expert oversight and advice. Their appointment further strengthens the geographic and sector coverage of the group, which is now composed of six external senior industry experts.

PwC Real Estate - Craig Hughes has joined the firm as partner. Hughes, who was previously with Ernst & Young, will lead the area of the business focusing on client work with investors and funds. He will also be working across the firm's broader financial services practice.

Asset Space - Stephen Court has been appointed non-executive director. Court is currently an adviser to CoStar Group, the commercial real estate information, analytics and media provider, and acts as a non-executive director and adviser to Artisan Studios, Minor Entertainments and Shoreditch BID within the property and entertainment sectors.

Internos Real Investors - Steven Faber has joined the fund management team, where he will be responsible for implementing a UK fund strategy. Hugo van der Goes has been appointed managing director of Internos in the Netherlands. He will be responsible for building and leading the Dutch business. Also joining the Amsterdam office is Pamela de Lange Storck as senior financial controller, responsible for the EIRE and Alecta portfolios. In France, Francois Lay will join the Paris team as an asset manager. Lastly, Susanne Merz has joined the Luxembourg team to provide office management and paralegal support.
